A macro-lens and electronic flash
are necessary to film the habits habitats of an insect..
(In case you want to take a close-up picture of an insect, which is one
expression method for taking pictures of an insect)
Most lens company sells the macro lens, which enables you to take a picture
by higher magnification than a standard lens.
In case you want to shoot extremely small subject like ants, it's better
to shoot with magnification equal to, or more than that of the magnification.
To shoot small subjects like that, if you have the Olympus OM4 with an
extension tube of 65mm to 116mm, 20mm, 38mm, 80mm, 135mm Zuiko macro lens
(four kinds of lens), and T28 macro twin flash, using these items flexibly,
you will easily shoot from equal magnification to infinite magnification
easily.
The macro lens of Zuiko is a very sharp
lens, and I wanted the lens to fit the 645 type camera (middle version).
Therefore I chose the Zuiko lens adapter for Pentax 645, and use it at
that time. I modified the mount so that auto focus can be used on the
macro lens. I use this system to take most of the shots of small insects.
I made this 18 years ago, but I still use it as my main camera.
